Part – 1
Massage is a Greek word. Massage is the scientific method of touching, friction, rubbing, knocking, vibrating, impacting, moving the joints and stimulating the muscles and muscles in the human body, keeping them active and consciously helping the blood flow in the body to flow properly.
The muscular part on the bones i.e. the muscles cause the movement of the body. Some muscles move according to the person’s will (voluntary muscles) while some muscles do not. For example the heart muscle, muscle contractions cause movement of body parts. Bone joints are formed where bones are joined by the ends of muscles.
Accumulated dirt in these joints can be removed by massage. Muscles are attached to the muscles. The brain gives orders to the muscles to move through this nerve coming from the brain. If these muscles become stiff or flexed, their efficiency decreases. Massage can make the muscles functional again.
The human body acquires its shape through the presence of various 213 different living bones of different lengths, shapes, and sizes. Eight bones are found in the wrist of the hand. A large thigh bone, thigh’s upper end, a small thigh, and shin, kneecap, head, and jawbone, collarbone, shoulder bone, chest, ribcage, spinal cord, shoulder blade, forearm bones, wrist bones, wrist’s two bones, ankle bone, shin’s two bones, thigh’s two bones, calf bone, ankle’s two bones, foot’s two bones, toe bones, six ear bones, fourteen face bones, one bone in the hand, thirty-three bones in the neck, fifteen bones in the chest, sixty-two bones in both hands, sixty-two bones in both feet, making a total of 213 bones in the human body.
Two types of joints 1) Movable joints 2) Fixed joints
Knee joint is movable while skull joint is immovable. Shoulder and waist can be rotated in all directions. Ankle joints and wrist joints are sliding joints. The leg can be bent down from the knee. But cannot be bent up. The bones of the joints are bound by ligaments like a white thread. At the ends of the articular bones is a thin substance called cartilage. Bone joints naturally have the ability to withstand shock due to fractures. But if the joint is stretched beyond capacity or the ligament is injured due to trauma to the joint, the joint will flex or twist. Sprained or sprained joints are not massaged immediately. Once the joints are stabilized, the massage is done only if it is necessary to look at the situation. If the pressure is applied to the skin, the pressure from the muscles under the skin can reach the bones and the bones can be massaged.
Direction of massaging –
Rohinya means blood in pure vessels flowing from the heart to the body cells. Neela means impure blood in impure vessels flowing towards the heart. Shastroka massage always done in the direction of the heart exerts enough effective pressure on the Rohiniav Neela and keeps the pure blood flowing throughout the body as well as the impure blood to flow towards the heart speeding up the blood circulation. And the health of man is maintained. Scientific massage can help reduce pain in most areas. According to the science, massage should be done in the direction of the heart.
Scientific Massage Techniques –
1) Mardan Kriya-
Mardan is not a champi massage. Rubbing lightly with the hands or fingers is a masculinizing action. At the beginning, feet are to be rubbed followed by arms, back, chest, stomach and finally the head. While rubbing, hands should be moved from bottom to top. After the hand goes up, first lift it without bringing it down and then bring it down and rub it again from below. By rubbing the part required for body massage, the blood vessels start working properly and blood circulation improves.
2) Thumb Massage –
This method involves applying pressure on the muscles of the thumb or pressing on the nerve or pinching the muscles with the index finger and thumb. On the part of the body wherever there is a fleshy part, massage is done by pressing and rubbing with the thumb.
3) Rhythmic Tadan :-
Rhythmic Tadan means gently tapping with fist or slap or wrist. This massage method is used to reduce fat.
4) Friction :-
A gentle pressure friction is applied with the thumbs and fingers of both hands or with the thumb and fingers of the same hand in circular undulating motion towards the heart. Friction is done by applying more pressure on the fleshy area. Tight muscles are massaged in a circular motion. Pressurized friction increases the flow of impure blood from the veins towards the heart. This increases the immunity of white cells. Blood circulation improves and swelling, pain, decreases. As a result, the nuisance of flexing, twisting and swelling of the joints is reduced.
5) Knocking, Spanking –
Stokeing is a massaging action of gentle tapping, with fingers, palms of hands, back of hand claws gently tapping on the required parts of the body. This type of massage stimulates the sensory nerves in the skin. This stimulus reaches the muscle through the afferent i.e. excitatory nerve and causes muscle contraction. It increases nerve and muscle strength.
6) Movement of the joints :-
Arm or leg up and down at the joints, Neck left to right or back and forth or carousel rotation, Fingers, toes or arms and legs stretched, Circular hand rotation, Wrist rounding, Foot ankle up and down etc. movements of the joints are considered as massage. Apart from this, 3 different types of massage include giving micro vibrations to the body with the hands, digging, pulling, pushing, pinching, etc. There are other types of massage such as dry massage, clay massage, oil massage.
Types of Massage :-
1) Dry Massage –
Exercise is given to the skin by rubbing the skin with one’s own hand and another’s hand. In this massage, the skin of hands and body is dry (without oil etc.). The skin feels refreshed as it is cleansed, purified and stimulated. The blood vessels there are massaged. Dry friction massage draws blood towards the skin. Blood supply to the skin is increased. It helps in keeping the skin fresh and healthy and functional. After a dry massage, take a bath with cold water or give a cold massage to the skin.
2) Cold massage –
Dry friction massage is followed by cold massage or cold massage if the body is hot. Cold massage is not done if the body is wet or slightly cold. Hot water shakes, steam baths, etc. are used to warm the skin beforehand. And then cold massage is done. Cold massage is beneficial in case of fever. Take a cotton cloth about four to five feet long and soak it in cold water. Wring it properly then tie the cloth on the right palm, close the fan in the house. Cover the entire body with a sheet. First, the chest, stomach, both arms, thighs, back, waist, feet should be rubbed, pressed and rubbed with a cold cloth, but the part to be massaged should be freed from the sheet and not covered.
